A Time-Looping Journey

Made in 4 days for GMTK 2025 Game Jam using Unreal Engine.

Theme - Loop

The loop in Bloom takes the form of a time loop. You traverse between a ruined future and a beautiful past, all while carrying a single rose that holds the key to changing fate. Certain objects radiate AOE effects when the rose is activated, adding a visual and gameplay loop layer.

Story

In a crumbling, fantastical future, your beloved of royal descent has died a tragic death. At her grave, a lone rose grows.

Gifted by a mysterious witch with the ability to travel back in time, you must carry the rose through a demon-infested castle, into the past, and deliver it to her chambers to rewrite fate and save her life.

Explore two timelines:

• The present, where the castle is old and destroyed.
• The past, where it stands clean and vibrant.

Controls:

• P - Pause Menu
• E - Interact
• Left Click - Activate Rose AOE (only when holding the rose)
• The rose is saved locally, keys are not
• You can restart the game anytime via the pause menu

What We Hoped to Add (but ran out of time)

• A cinematic final moment where a glowing bubble rewinds the world to the past
• Rose-carrying animation for the character (was ready, but not implemented in time)
